Hemp Extract and CBD Product Questions

What exactly is hemp extract?

Hemp extract, also known as CBD oil, is harvested from an entire hemp plant—buds, seeds, leaves, and all. While many companies only use hemp seeds or leaves to extract pure CBD oil, Charlotte’s Web premium hemp extracts and CBD Clinic Professional series contain oil derived from the entire hemp plant. Doing so provides your body with a full spectrum of phytocannabinoids and plant matter, also known as the “entourage effect”.

These whole hemp extracts include CBD, CBA, CBG, CBC, CBN, and more than 80 other phytocannabinoids. Together, phytocannabinoids trigger optimal reception from the neurotransmitters in your body for palpable effects.

Whole hemp extract oil including CBD is used as a powerful superfood for your body. It’s embraced for its antioxidants, vitamins, and essential fatty acids. Because CBD from industrial hemp oil includes only trace levels of THC, it doesn’t possess the same psychoactive effects as marijuana. However, many people take CBD/whole hemp extract for exercise-induced inflammation, anxiety, topical relief, and sleep quality.*

Which hemp extract CBD product is right for me?

If you’ve just begun using Charlotte’s Web CBD oil hemp extracts, you might like to try the 7mg extract or capsules first. They contain the mildest dose of CBD at an affordable price.

If you have tried Charlotte’s Web hemp extracts in the past or regularly consume hemp products, lead a generally active lifestyle, and have interest in the power of phytocannabinoids and phytochemicals, we recommend Charlotte’s Web 17mg hemp extract or hemp capsules.

For those who want or need the highest concentration of hemp extract available from Charlotte’s Web products, try the brand-new maximum strength formula, 60mg CBD Oil. Charlotte’s Web 60mg CBD oil hemp extract is CO2-extracted for maximum purity and potency.

Will I test positive on a drug test if I take CBD?

Unfortunately, it’s impossible to be 100% certain. CBD is unlikely to show up positive on a drug test because our hemp oil products contain less than 0.3% THC per dry volume and comply with all federal and state guidelines. Plus, CBD does not trigger the psychoactive effects of purer and higher-concentrated THC products like legal cannabis.

We cannot accurately determine how each individual will metabolize CBD oil or how individual drug tests for CBD may read THC levels. If you have concerns about testing positive for CBD oil or hemp extract, we encourage you to speak to your employer or doctor about taking a legal hemp extract.

What is the difference between hemp oil and hemp extract?

Many customers ask us, “What is hemp oil?” By definition, hemp oil, or hemp seed oil, is the essential oil produced from the seeds of the hemp plant.

Hemp seed oil, or hemp oil, is not the same as hemp extract or CBD oil. Hemp seed oil does not include CBD oil’s diverse plant compounds. Because it’s extracted from seeds only, hemp oil is primarily composed of dietary fats. CBD oil, or hemp extract, on the other hand, contains phytocannabinoids from the entire hemp plant to retain a diverse range of phytocannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids.

What are the batch results for my CBD oil products?

All CW products come with a QR code to easily find the batch results. Please contact us if you need help.

Is CBD legal in all states?

The CBD community is making strides toward complete federal and state legalization of CBD. In December 2018, President Trump legalized hemp in all 50 states. The 2018 Farm Bill allows people to cultivate hemp and sell hemp-derived products across state lines.

CBD oil is another matter. While some states like Utah have legalized CBD oil for medicinal use, it is still not fully legal on a federal level. However, CBD manufacturers and distributors haven’t been a target of the DEA beyond cease-and-desist letters because industrial hemp is excluded from the definition of marijuana in the CSA. That means any product derived from industrial hemp is considered legal (including cannabinoid products) as long as it is compliant with the federal Farm Bill.

Because we are a Utah-based company, people also ask us, “Is CBD legal in Utah?” Yes. CBD with less than 0.3% THC content is legal for sale in Utah. Center of Healing is registered to distribute all Charlotte’s Web hemp extract products with the state of Utah. Charlotte’s Web CBD products are grown in Colorado and abide by legal standards.

How much CBD is in Charlotte's Web hemp extract?

Charlotte’s Web extracts phytocannabinoids from the entire hemp plant. In doing so, it harvests a powerful mix of not only CBD, but also CBA, CBG, CBC, CBN, and more than 80 other phytocannabinoids. Why? Because each compound supports your body’s receptor network to deliver optimal results. That’s why you’ll see varying milligrams per milliliter of CBD vs. hemp extract within each Charlotte’s Web product.

Why are CBD and hemp extract measured differently?

Hemp extract is only sourced from hemp plants, whereas CBD can be sourced from a number of plants, including hemp.

Additionally, CBD is only one of many beneficial cannabinoids present in whole hemp extract. Hemp extract contains more than 80 of these compounds, and it offers the full spectrum or “entourage” of cannabinoids. In short, hemp extract gives us not only the benefits of CBD, but also all cannabinoid health benefits.Look at the chart below to review the CBD and hemp concentration per serving, per product.

What is a cannabinoid?

Cannabinoids, found in CBD, are naturally derived chemical compounds from cannabis. CBD is a cannabinoid—as are CBA, CBC, CBN, CBG, and 80 other phytocannabinoids found in Charlotte’s Web products. Cannabinoids have been found to trigger cannabinoid receptors in cells in the human body that alter neurotransmitter release in the brain. That’s why CBD can help with anything from anxiety to nausea to insomnia, and more.

When you administer Charlotte’s Web premium hemp extract CBD oils, you get a diverse dose of phytocannabinoids because the entire hemp plant is harvested. Together, these phytocannabinoids complement your body’s functioning for optimal health.
